This 680 MW, dual fuel, peaking plant is an Electric Wholesale Generator that began commercial operations in June 2002. It has a tolling agreement with GenOn Energy that expires in June 2012. From June 2012 through June 2027 the plant is fully contracted under a tolling agreement with Progress Energy Florida. Waste water from the plant is discharged into an onsite evaporationpercolation pond.
